Horror Movie News Report

SENDER, the paranoid thriller written and directed by Russell Goldman, will make its international debut at Spain’s Sitges Film Festival with screenings scheduled for October 11 and 12. Exclusive photos from Rue Morgue feature stars David Dastmalchian and Britt Lower. The film debuted at SXSW earlier this year and has since received Best Feature awards from the Sidewalk Film Festival, Chattanooga Film Festival, and Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology. A theatrical release is planned for 2027. Lower plays Julia, a woman attempting to rebuild her life after being fired from her job and getting sober three weeks earlier. After moving into a suburban rental, Julia begins ordering items online to furnish the space. The situation changes when packages she never purchased begin arriving at her door. The deliveries include a blender, a corkscrew, and Julia’s signature shade of lipstick—objects that appear connected to her past. As the online retailer denies responsibility, Julia searches for the person sending the packages. According to the film’s synopsis, that investigation leads her into a dangerous rabbit hole and forces her to confront both her past and the fragile reality she is trying to reconstruct. SENDER also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Rhea Seehorn, Anna Baryshnikov, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Mike Mitchell. Curtis produced the film alongside Molly Hallam and Jake Katofsky.
