Temple Hill Entertainment and Anton, the production companies associated with Smile, are teaming with YouTube filmmaker Sam Evenson to develop Ignore It, a supernatural horror feature based on his viral short of the same name. According to Dread Central, Evenson will write and direct the adaptation, marking his feature directorial debut. The story centers on a family attempting to survive alongside an entity known as “The Woman.” The creature kills anyone who acknowledges her, leaving the family with a single rule for survival: ignore her. Lily Collias is set to star as Becca. Evenson’s short was released on YouTube in 2021 and has since received more than 12 million views. The project is based on Jeff Speziale’s r/NoSleep story, You’re Going to Notice a Woman in Your Home, You Must Ignore Her. Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, John Fischer, Hal Sadoff, and Ben Levine are producing for Temple Hill Entertainment. Anton’s Sébastien Raybaud and Kathy Stocker are executive producing. In a statement reported by Dread Central, Temple Hill described Evenson as a major emerging talent and said the company was excited to support his first feature. The company also highlighted the planned collaboration between Evenson and Collias, identifying the film as an emotional horror thriller. Evenson operates the Grimoire Horror YouTube channel, which has more than 199,000 subscribers. He is also developing Mora, another feature based on one of his shorts, for Neon. However, Ignore It is expected to enter production first. Anton is scheduled to begin sales for the film in Toronto. The supplied report does not provide a production start date or release information.
