Bonnie Aarons is set to appear as The Witch in Ever After, a new horror film from writer-director Laszlo Illes that places familiar fairy-tale figures in a deadly setting. The movie will receive an exclusive theatrical release in the United States and Canada on September 4, 2026, from Level 33 Entertainment.
Ever After follows a group of friends whose bachelorette weekend at a secluded forest lodge takes a dangerous turn. The surrounding woods are inhabited by murderous fanatics who view themselves as the heroes and villains of childhood stories. As the group fights to survive, figures including Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Witch and Prince Charming emerge within the film’s twisted fairy-tale world.
Aarons leads an ensemble that also includes Mark Sheppard, Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder and Malcolm McDowell. The cast members are known for work including Supernatural, The Hills Have Eyes, Friday the 13th VII-X and A Clockwork Orange, respectively.
The film was produced by Intergalactic Pictures, McClurg Productions, Harambee Grey-Sun Productions, Stag Mountain Films and Avali Productions. According to the interview coverage, Ever After combines practical creature effects and large-scale set pieces with its genre-focused cast.
Illes described working with Aarons, Sheppard, Berryman, Hodder and McDowell as an opportunity he had dreamed about for years, while also praising their commitment to the project’s fairy-tale setting.
Aarons arrives in the film after playing Valak, also known as The Nun, in The Conjuring 2, The Nun and The Nun II. Earlier in her career, she appeared in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive as the frightening figure encountered behind Winkie’s.
Tickets for Ever After are on sale through Fandango ahead of its September 4 theatrical opening.
